SEASON 2 BEGINS WITH THE PREMIERE OF EPISODE 1!
We rejoin our heroes in Chicago, where they’re on the prowl for the ever elusive job in the journalism industry…
Production kicked off today with a whole bunch of rehearsal and a little bit of News in a Minute shooting to top it all off. Tomorrow we’re shooting outside all day and if I remember correctly, I once complained about shooting in Muncie in December. I’m sure a January in Chicago will set us straight…
WE’RE BACK
It’s been a long time coming, but production for Season 2 begins today! Nearly two years after Frank and Paul’s first attempt to complete a single journalism assignment, we catch back up with them in Chicago as they take on the news industry one fabricated story at a time.
I’m firing this blog back up, and over the next few weeks I’ll have all sorts of photos and other goodness up here as Frank and Paul go about their misadventures.
Just in case you were wondering, season 2 will contain 10 episodes that will air on DistractChicago.com weekly starting in mid February.
BIG NEWS! (that’s a tad late)
I forgot to put it up here last week, but I just won a Letterman Scholarship (second place) for the direction and writing of Muckrakers! Woo hooo! Much thanks to the judges for thinking Muckrakers worthy and to Letterman for being awesome!

In shameless cross promotional news, if you’re looking for something to fill the cold, empty void between season 1 of Muckrakers and season 2, I now have the entire feature length film Run Hollywood Summer online!
RHS laid the groundwork for Muckrakers as one of the first major Impaired Productions projects and contains many of the cast and crew that would later migrate to the webisode series. Winner of a David Letterman Scholarship for screenplay and an official reject of Sundance 2010, Run Hollywood Summer follows the misadventures of a band of college students attempting to make the ultimate in horror films.
I had to compress the entire feature to under one gigabyte so its not the highest quality render in the world and unfortunately not HD like we shot in, but at least I got it online and in the correct aspect ratio! There’s a weird green bar on the left side that Vimeo added, if you download the film and play it back it’ll disappear.

We’re Going to Be At the Symposium Thingy Thursday!
If you happen to find yourself wandering around the Letterman Building sometime between noon and five this Thursday, be sure to check out the Muckrakers booth at the annual student symposium thing. (It’s actually called the ‘Communication+Culture Student Kaleidoscope Symposium’, but I honestly don’t have a clue what that means. Maybe we’re going to be talking to each other with Kaleidoscopes? Man, now I really want to play with a Kaleidoscope.)
Also, while I have your attention, many, many thanks to everybody who came out for the Muckrakers screening last Friday! I’ve been meaning to put up something about it sooner, but my friend Mr. Cold has had me all sorts of occupied these past few days. I had a great time and I hope you all enjoy your brand spanking new Muckrakers t-shirts and buttons!
What do you say? You didn’t get a button because you didn’t come to the screening? No problem, stop by our booth at the symposium and you just might be able to convince us to give you some sweet Muckrakers swag!

We’ll be showing the whole season as well as the final episode at 8pm in Letterman 125.
